چکیده
Abstract Background The predictive value of the new imaging sequences, especially T2 mapping in assessment articular cartilage abnormalities medial knee compartments patients with pain. purpose this study is to evaluate additional over using a baseline standard MRI detect lesions representing Results included 60 presented pain, where divided into two groups ; control group (20 volunteers) age range from 19 41 years old 26.80 ± 8.05 (mean SD) and (40 candidates) 13 57 mean 33.00 14.1 SD). Conclusion On adding sequence routine knee, sensitivity for detecting was increased, detection early degeneration at compartment. Compositional MR including plays an important role potentially reversible damage among young population.

Comparison of T1rho and T2 Mapping of Knee Articular Cartilage in an Asymptomatic Population
OBJECTIVE To analyze subregional differences in T1rho (T1ρ) and T2 values and their correlation in asymptomatic knee cartilage, and to evaluate angular dependence with magic angles. MATERIALS AND METHODS Six asymptomatic volunteers underwent knee MRI with T1ρ and T2 mapping. T1ρ and T2 values were measured by two radiologists independently, at nine subregions in the medial femoral condyle (MF...
متن کاملComparison of Quantitative T2 Mapping Techniques for Articular Cartilage
Introduction: T2 relaxation time mapping of free water content and mobility in articular cartilage provides an indirect assessment of collagen content and orientation [1]. Biochemical changes are characteristic of the early stages of osteoarthritis (OA), and T2 mapping is increasingly used in both clinical and research settings. New MR pulse sequences, including 3D approaches, provide more adva...
متن کاملT1ρ/T2 mapping and histopathology of degenerative cartilage in advanced knee osteoarthritis
AIM To investigate whether normal thickness cartilage in osteoarthritic knees demonstrate depletion of proteoglycan or collagen content compared to healthy knees. METHODS Magnetic resonance (MR) images were acquired from 5 subjects scheduled for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) (mean age 70 years) and 20 young healthy control subjects without knee pain (mean age 28.9 years). MR images of T1ρ map...
متن کاملImpact of different coils on biochemical T2 and T2* relaxation time mapping of articular cartilage
Introduction: In the evaluation of articular cartilage, cartilage repair and OA, biochemical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays an important role. Different biochemical methods are exploited for their potential use at 1.5 Tesla and 3.0 Tesla in various studies and recently in clinical routine protocols (1). Advances in coil-technology significantly improve their ability for the diagnosis of...
متن کاملCorrelation study between facet joint cartilage and intervertebral discs in early lumbar vertebral degeneration using T2, T2* and T1ρ mapping
Recent advancements in magnetic resonance imaging have allowed for the early detection of biochemical changes in intervertebral discs and articular cartilage. Here, we assessed the feasibility of axial T2, T2* and T1ρ mapping of the lumbar facet joints (LFJs) to determine correlations between cartilage and intervertebral discs (IVDs) in early lumbar vertebral degeneration. We recruited 22 volun...
